The London 2012 gold medallists got lots of public acclaim – most notably the reward of gold postboxes in their home towns.

That isn’t happening this year – but para-canoeist Anne Dickins was welcomed home from Rio with a unique gift from her neighbours.

Yes, they wrapped her wheelie bin in gold wrapping paper.

Not quite the long-lasting tribute of a golden postbox – but Dickins looks pretty happy nonetheless.
