Lindsey Vonn confirms return to competition exclusively to Eurosport
American ski superstar Lindsey Vonn has exclusively revealed to Eurosport that she will make her long-awaited return to the piste in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee this weekend.
The 32-year-old’s season was put into jeopardy in November when she sustained a broken right arm while training in Colorado. Vonn, who returns to action after completing an intensive three-month program of rehabilitation following her accident, will continue her pursuit of becoming the holder of the most career World Cup wins (86). Vonn currently sits at 76.
Lindsey Vonn told Eurosport: “Words cannot describe how excited I am to be returning to the slopes this week. It’s been a tough three months with over 300 hours of rehabilitation but being able to go fast and compete again makes all of the hard work with it.
"I am thrilled to make my return at Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, a place that I have had incredible success, including breaking the World Cup Downhill win record in front of Annemarie Moser-Pröll last year. I have already missed a few races but hopefully I can overcome that and still make a run at some World Cup titles. I hope fans tune in to Eurosport to watch. It’s going to be an exciting season."
Fans can watch Vonn in action during Eurosport’s live coverage from Altenmarkt-Zauchensee which starts on 10.45am CET on Saturday 14 January.
The ski icon will give fans an access-all-areas pass into the life of one of the most successful downhill skiers of all time when ‘Chasing History’ airs on all Eurosport platforms from February.
