Sept 26 (The Sports Xchange) - Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson avoided serious injury but might miss a game for the first time in his career with a sprained knee, Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said the day after Wilson limped to the sideline during a Week 3 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Carroll said on his Monday morning radio show that Wilson was diagnosed with a sprained MCL during an MRI exam. Carroll said it turned out "exceedingly well" after Wilson treated the injury overnight.

Until now, only seniors were allowed to be tested by NFL scouts before the beginning of each season. Beginning in February, each FBS team will be able to submit a list of five underclassmen who may join in the testing along with the seniors.
