Double silver medallist Gemili excited for Commonwealth Games return

Adam Gemili will spearhead Team England's 75-strong athletics team at next year's Commonwealth Games - the largest ever English contingent sent to an overseas event.

The squad, including Greg Rutherford, Dina Asher-Smith and Sophie Hitchon, features athletes who have already claimed 18 Commonwealth Games medals between them.
There will also be a large number of debutants set to make their Games bow on Australia's Gold Coast, including heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson.
And for Gemili, who won 100m and 4x100m silver in Glasgow three years ago, donning the red and white of Team England once again is an opportunity he will relish.
"It's such a proud moment for me to be selected to compete at my second Commonwealth Games," he said.
"Winning two silver medals in Glasgow 2014 was an incredible experience for me and I'm really excited to get back out there.
"The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games was a fantastic event. It was the first time I won a senior international medal so it's great to be going back to where it all started.
"I'm looking forward to competing for Team England again and can't wait to get out to Australia."

Gemili will be joined in the squad by fellow world 4x100m champions Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake and Danny Talbot, however CJ Ujah, winner of the 100m Diamond League title, has chosen to prioritise March's World Indoor Championships.
Rutherford is set to make his return to action following the injury problems that plagued his 2017 season, causing him to miss August's home World Championships in London.
"We at England Athletics are delighted to be sending this team to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games," said team leader Martin Rush.
"The team is a real blend of experience and youth, featuring a number of athletes who performed well at last summer's IAAF World Championships, as well as some who are making their senior international championships debuts."
