The 33-year-old has already made clear his intentions to retire from the track after this summer's World Championships to focus on road racing.
And he stepped up his track farewell with another impressive showing in Birmingham, stopping the clock at 13 minutes 9.16 seconds.
The four-time Olympic Champion displayed his trademark sprint finish to see off his rivals with Bahrain's Albert Rop proving to be his toughest challenge.
"I had amazing support from the crowd today and I can't quite believe it's my last indoor race," said Farah.
"I've had a great career indoors and particularly on this track.
"I knew I needed to do some work after Edinburgh, I had to leave my family but hard work pays off."
Farah was not the only record breaker either with fellow Rio 2016 Olympian Laura Muir coming home in 2:31.93 in the women's 1000m to break Dame Kelly Holmes' British best set back in 2004.
