The Tall Blacks sit just one spot above Britain in the world rankings but often get the opportunity to compete on the world stage through FIBA Oceania qualification. For Clark the matchup is a chance for Britain to pit their wits against a side they have aspirations to overtake in the rankings.
And he is hoping his teammates can lay down a marker in London when the sides meet.
"They'll be tough," Clark said. "They're a hard-nosed team, they play tough and play hungry.
"We are going to have to match their physicality and their intensity level throughout the whole game if we want to have a chance.
"They will be more experienced than us, they have been playing together for a long time and we have a lot of new guys this year.
"It will be a good test. It's the type of team we should aspire to be like, although we could and potentially should be better than them.
"But at the moment, they are the type of team we should try and aspire to be.
"They are consistently in the FIBA World Championships and their continental championship and that's the type of team we want to be and build from there."
