Feb 1 (The Sports Xchange) - Phoenix Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek was fired Monday morning.

The team named assistant Earl Watson as interim head coach later Monday.
The Suns have lost 19 of their past 21 games and arrived home Sunday with a 14-35 record. That mark is tied for the NBA's fourth-worst record. The Suns are on pace for the worst season since the inaugural season of the franchise, when the team was 16-66 (.195).

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade and Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant were named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Jan. 25-31.
Wade averaged 24 points, seven assists, 4.8 rebounds and two steals while leading Miami to four consecutive wins. Durant averaged 34.7 points, 11.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists as Oklahoma City won three consecutive games.

The Charlotte Hornets reassigned guard Aaron Harrison to the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA Development League.
Harrison, 21, has appeared in 13 games for Charlotte, averaging 0.5 points and 0.6 rebounds in 4.2 minutes per contest.

The Memphis Grizzlies signed center Ryan Hollins to a second 10-day contract, the team announced.
Hollins, 31, has averaged 3.1 points and 2.6 rebounds in nine games for Memphis this season.

The Atlanta Hawks recalled center Edy Tavares from the Austin Spurs of the D-League, the team announced.
Tavares averaged 9.8 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocked shots in 10 D-League games.
