Boe's stellar World Cup season rumbles on

The 24-year-old Norwegian followed up his victories in both disciplines in Hochfilzen, Austria, on December 8 and 9, and Friday's 10km sprint, also at Le Grand-Bornand, and in turn, followed in the footsteps of Martin Fourcade, who won four races in a row last season.

Boe dominated the field and topped the leaderboard with a time of 32:52.7 and he also served up a full house of hits with the rifle.

The Norwegian star finds himself just 14 points behind 11-time world champion Fourcade in the overall World Cup standings, the Frenchman finishing second in 33:54.1.

Anton Shipulin (34:03.2) completed the podium, narrowly beating fellow Russian Alexander Loginov (34:03.4), who was forced to settle for fourth.

Germany's Simon Schempp (34:25.0), who is fourth in the overall standings, clocked in one minute and 32.3 seconds behind Boe in fifth while France’s Simon Desthieux was sixth in 34:34.6.

Boe will continue his bid to snatch the overall lead from Fourcade when he World Cup circuit moves to Oberhof, Germany, on January 5-6.
