Finland's Kaisa Makarainen claimed the women's 7.5km sprint title for the second year in a row in Khanty Mansiysk, Russia.
Makarainen finished in 20:42.3 to take the title with one shooting penalty ahead of Czech Republic's Gabriela Soukalova who was second on the podium but claimed the overall sprint title.
The pair were separated by 3.1 seconds with Soukalova shooting clean while Marte Olsbu also had no shooting penalties and took a career-best third place finish – 4.8 seconds back on Makarainen.
It was an 80-strong field that lined up for the final sprint of the season with a host of clean shoots in the prone before the penalties began to rack up in the standing.
It was there that Makarainen picked up her penalty and left six seconds back on Olsbu but the Finn produced a strong final loop to take the win.
"I am a little surprised that it is possible to win the race with one penalty," she said.
"I like the competitions here in Khanty. It was great to win a medal on the last day in Oslo, I was also quite tired, but I slept until 12 o'clock, I think it was my key to victory today."
Soukalova takes home the World Cup sprint title with 413 points, and at the same time closed in on the overall title.
