Maximilian Arndt won his second World Championship title in the four-man bobsleigh with victory in Winterburg on Sunday.
The German pilot, who won the same race at St Moritz two years ago, was joined by Alexander Roediger, Kevin Korona and Ben Heber in front of a home crowd.
And he eventually finished in a total time of 3:34.98 minutes, just two-hundredths of a second ahead of compatriot Nico Walther to complete a German one-two.
Arndt, a two-time European champion in the four-man event, said: "The first title was quite cool but here, with such an audience and in such an exciting competition, is very cool."
Latvia's Oskars Melbardis finished third, in 3:35.01 minutes, with Francesco Friedrich in fourth, just five hundredths of a second away from completing an all-German podium.
Last year Germany endured a difficult Winter Olympic Games in this event, left without a medal for the first time in 50 years, but this performance sees a return to their previous dominance in the four-man.
