With the World Cup event doubling up as the European Championships, Hefti was eager to add to his 2010, 2013 and 2014 titles.
And he did exactly that, he and brakeman Alex Baumann set a new season record of 1:06.17 minutes in the second run en route to claiming a double victory.
Completing the World Cup podium in St Moritz were Americans Steven Holcomb and Carlo Valdes in second, while third place went to Germans Nico Walther and Christian Poser.
Their third-place finish saw World Championship runner-up Walther claim European Championship silver, his first ever medal in the two-man bobsleigh in this format.
And the bronze medal also went to Germany as Maximilian Arndt and Kevin Kuske came home fourth in a total time of 2:12.88.
With just one race to go in the World Cup series, Yunjong Won of South Korea still heads the overall standings with 1337 points after a fifth in St Moritz.
Walther is overall second with a score of 1274 and Ugis Zalims of Latvia, who came seventh in St Moritz, is third with 1242.
