Elana Meyers Taylor and Lolo Jones came home in second place, with Canadian duo Kaillie Humphries and Cynthia Appiah in third.
The win marked a first World Cup success for Greubel Poser since her last appearance at Lake Placid in January of this year, and she was understandably delighted at the American success.
"[Going 1-2] is definitely our goal when we're here," said Greubel Poser.
"But it's nice to actually make it happen because it's not as easy as it sounds."
The eventual winners made the perfect start on the first run, shattering the track record by nearly half a second in a time of 55.81 seconds.
They then claimed victory with a second run of 56.21, to finish 0.14 seconds clear of Meyers Taylor and Jones.
For Meyers Taylor it was a promising return to action after a crash a fortnight ago in Whistler, and brakewoman Jones was impressed at how her partner responded.
"I don't have driving experience to know what Elana is going through," said Jones, a two-time Olympic hurdler.
"But I do have hurdle experience, and I know what it's like to crash and hit a hurdle and have to race again.
"What she overcame to come back and drive really good, I'm so proud of her. Me getting sick and having that obstacle to overcome, we're proud of this effort. This is a gritty effort we both had to do to get this silver medal."
