Martini brings an end to Meyers Taylor's winning run

Germany's Cathleen Martini brought an end to Elana Meyers Taylor's unbeaten start to the women's two-man World Cup season as she and Lisa Marie Buckwitz took victory in front of their home fans in Koenigssee.

Meyers Taylor and Cherrelle Garrett had won the opening three races in Lake Placid, Calgary and Altenberg to top the overall World Cup standings.
But they were slightly off the pace in a close competition in Germany, posting 1:42.51 from their two runs to place sixth, 0.63 seconds behind Martini.
The whole podium was split by just 0.08 seconds with Martini recording 50.93 and 50.95 from their two runs to finish with a combined time of 1:41.88.
Second went to Belgium's Elfje Willemsen, 0.04 seconds back, while Germany's podium success continued with Anja Schneiderheinze in third, 0.08 seconds behind the leader.
For Great Britain, pilot Victoria Olaoye guided her and Anya Kay to tenth, one place above teammates Mica McNeill and Aleasha Kiddle.
In the overall standings, Meyers Taylor continued to lead the way with 851 points with Willemsen in second on 772 and Schneiderheinze third on 770.
