After missing several weeks due to concussion, American Elana Meyers Taylor crowned her return in style as she and brakewoman Lauren Gibbs set a new track record of 1:08.14 minutes in their second run en route to claiming victory.
Finishing runner-up 0.38 seconds further back was Schneiderheinze and Annika Drazek, and with the World Cup event doubling up as the European Championships Germany were once again celebrating a gold medal following on from their success in 2015.
Third place on the day went to Olympic champion Kaillie Humphries and her brakewoman Melissa Lotholz, who were 0.76 seconds behind the American victors.

But that wasn't the end of the medals as the European silver went to Elfje Willemsen and Sophie Vercruyssen of Belgium, their first ever medal in this racing format.
And the surprise winner of the European bronze medal was German junior world champion Stephanie Schneider with brakewoman Lisa Marie Buckwitz.
After seven of eight World Cup races, the overall standings continue to be led by 2012 and 2013 world champion Humphries, who now has 1510 points.
American Jamie Greubel Poser, who missed the podium in St Moritz for the first time this season with a fourth-place finish, is second with 1452 points and Austrian Christina Hengster is third with 1354 after placing seventh in St Moritz.
