The two-time world champions boxer has said he will never leave after returning home from the Greek island of Lesbos, where he was involved in charity work helping hundreds of refugees who have fled the civil war in Syria.
He said: “I will always live in Bolton — I have always said that to everyone.
“People have often asked me in the past why I don’t move away — they say ‘why don’t you move to Manchester, why don’t you go here or there.
“But Bolton is where I come from and where I have always been.”
The 28-year-old became a father for the first time last year and he intends to raise Lamaisah in his hometown.
“The people of Bolton are so lovely and are so close to me — I never want to leave.”
The boxer is eyeing a bout with Philippino legend Manny Pacquiao in his next move, but said his post-sport career is already sorted.
"I’ve always been involved with charity and after my boxing career ends, it is charity that I want to get into full-time.
“I want to make a difference and help people around the world, that is something I really want to do — it will give me another adrenalin buzz like boxing does.”
