Luke Campbell has vowed to rebuild trainer Jorge Rubio's reputation in the United Kingdom as he prepares for the toughest test of his career against Darleys Perez.

The Olympic gold medallist meets the Colombian on the undercard of Anthony Joshua's world heavyweight title fight with Wladimir Klitschko as he strives to reach the same level as his London 2012 team-mate.
He has been working with Rubio - made the scapegoat for and replaced after Amir Khan's shock first-round defeat by Breidis Prescott in 2008 - since suffering a surprise loss of his own to Yvan Mendy in 2015.
Rubio's damaged reputation in the British fight community made him an unusual choice for the independent Campbell to make. The Cuban is regardless respected elsewhere for his work with the great Guillermo Rigondeaux and others, and the lightweight believes they will thrive.
He has spent only four weeks of 2017 in the UK, leaving his wife and young family in Hull to work with Rubio in North Miami, and is ready to demonstrate why against former world title challenger Perez.
"That's not Jorge's reputation, that was Amir Khan's reputation; Jorge got the backlash off that," he told Press Association Sport. "That's nothing to do with me, it didn't concern me at all.
"He got hit on the chin and his legs went and he got knocked out. I sparred Prescott a couple of times in Miami: the guy can punch. Jorge just got the backlash off that, and it was very undeserved: he's a quality coach.
"Boxers can make a coach, and a lot of other boxers will fall into the hype of going with that coach, just because he was successful with one fighter. Maybe it was the fighter who made that coach, not the other way around.
"He got the blame, which was b******t. I don't believe people think it was his fault at all. He's a top coach: people will see that with the difference he's made with me.
"It's going fantastic. He's there with me on the track in the morning, there with me in the gym, invites me round for dinner on the weekend when he cooks. He's a great guy, we have a great connection. You have to have that connection with a trainer.
"I see the gym, the track, and that's it. Six days a week I'm training twice a day. I don't really get to enjoy it. But I'm not there to enjoy it. I believe Jorge will make me successful and I will make him successful as well."
Campbell has been sharing a two-bedroom apartment but is so convinced by the benefits of his relationship with Rubio that he plans to invest in property of his own, regardless of his struggles with being so far from his family.
"The most difficult part is being away from my family, making sacrifices, missing things that my kids are doing, day-in, day-out," said the 29-year-old. "I've been away from my wife (Lynsey): it's really hard. I'm doing this to benefit the full family and give us a better life.
"It never gets easier. I hate being away from them, and after this fight I'm definitely after some quality time with the family. I'm away by myself. I get lonely and whatever else, but I'm there to achieve my goals.
"I'm sparring Cubans, Colombians, Americans, Russians: everybody. In this last camp I had four sparring partners, including (Cuba's) Yuriorkis Gamboa, and a (Floyd) Mayweather-style fighter."
