Tyson Fury has strongly denied claims he is homophobic or racist, and Britain's new world heavyweight champion has also claimed he was misquoted by a national newspaper "trying to sell papers".

The British boxer realised his dream in Dusseldorf on Saturday night with a unanimous points win over WBA, IBF and WBO holder, Wladimir Klitschko, a champion who had not lost for 11 years, but his success has not been welcomed by everyone.
Shadow Cabinet minister Chris Bryant tweeted he wouldn't be celebrating Tyson Fury's historic world heavyweight title win because he claims the boxer is homophobic.
He made his comments after Fury conducted an interview with the Mail on Sunday earlier this month when he was alleged to have said that three things needed to happen "before the devil comes home".
“One of them is homosexuality being legal in countries, one of them is abortion and the other is paedophilia. Who would have thought in the 50s and 60s that those first two would be legalised?” the Mail on Sunday quoted Fury as saying.
“When I say paedophiles could be made legal, it sounds crazy. But if I had said to you about the first two being made legal in the 50s, I would have been looked upon as a crazy man."
Those quotes were vehemently denied by Fury speaking to RTE Radio 1 in Ireland on Tuesday.
"It is all misquotes," said Fury. "It is newspapers trying to sell papers on writing bad things about me.
I don't have any hate for anybody. I'm not homophobic, I'm not racist and I'm not against any people. All I have for people is love because at the end of the day we are all brothers and sisters in God. What people do is none of my business. God bless everybody.
Fury has apparently previously been fined £3,000 after saying two boxers were "gay lovers".
