Shane Byrne takes pole for Race 1 at Brands Hatch Showdown, Leon Haslam crashes out

Shane Byrne took pole position for Race 1 at the British Superbikes Showdown at Brands Hatch.

The BeWiser Ducati rider set a time of 1min 24.163secs, ahead of Josh Brookes and Christian Iddon.

Leon Haslam, who qualified in fourth before being involved in a minor crash, leads the Title Fighters by 32 points, with Josh Brookes in second, and Byrne in third, a point further back.

Race 1 is at 4pm on Saturday, with Race 2 and 3 at 12.45 and 4pm respectively on Sunday.
