Imperious Kohli leads India to victory over England

A masterful performance from Virat Kohli led India to a three-wicket win over England in the opening one-day international in Pune.
Kohli won the toss and elected to bowl at a ground that doesn't see too many one-day internationals.
Well-constructed 70s from Jason Roy and Joe Root, followed by excellent late hitting by Ben Stokes had given England a score of 350-7, their highest score in India.
And Eoin Morgan's side got off to the perfect start as they reduced India to 63-4.
However Kohli fought back, partnered by Kedar Jadhav as the pair both recorded centuries.
Stokes removed Kohli and Jake Ball accounted Jadhav to suddenly cause tension to increase in the stadium.
Ravi Jadeja fell quickly, giving Ball another wicket having removed MS Dhoni earlier in the innings, which left Hardik Pandya and Ravichandran Ashwin to see the game out.
Earlier in the day England, led by the impressive Roy, got off to a solid start, as the Surrey man made light work of the Indian attack.
His opening partner, Alex Hales, suffered a run-out on nine but that brought Joe Root to the crease who kept Roy company.
Neither could turn their starts into big scores though, with Roy falling on 73 and Root 78, with captain Morgan (28) and Jos Buttler (31) getting in and getting out quickly.
A fine knock down the order from Stokes saw him record the fastest 50 by an Englishman in India as he hit 62, ably partnered by a 28 from Moeen Ali.
Despite an impressive score the poise of Kohli proved to be too much as England's bowling let them down in the middle overs.
They will now travel to Cuttack for the second game on Thursday.
