India beat Australia by 75 runs in the second test to level the four-match series at 1-1, with home off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin taking 6-41 on the fourth day on Tuesday.
Australia, who won the opening test at Pune by 333 runs, were all out for 112 in their second innings as they chased 188 for victory on a difficult surface at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
A superb bowling performance from Nathan Lyon in the first innings (8-50) and Josh Hazlewood in the second (6-67) had put Australia into a terrific position to take a 2-0 lead in the four-match series.
But, when well-placed on 101-4 on the fourth day, Australia lost their last six wickets for just 11 runs in an incredible collapse.
The third test is in Ranchi and starts on March 16.
