Defending an unbeaten run in Group B, there was little doubt that Sweden would get the victory after going 5-0 up after just two ends.
And they were not to take their foot off the gas, eventually prevailing 9-1 after just six ends in a performance befitting their flying start to the competition.
"It’s always fun to know that you’ve made the play-offs, but we still have one game left in the round-robin against China so we’re going to focus on that one first, then we can think about the play-offs," said skip Isabella Wranaa.
"That just confirms to us that we know the ice now and that we can put the stones where we want them.
"We know the USA guys can play better than they did today too, so we had a bit of luck on our side as well."
Poland also secured their play-off spot in the same session, though their progression was a tighter affair, edging out Germany 9-8.
They needed an extra end too, recovering from 4-0 down after four ends to take five points in the next and lead proceedings, just about holding themselves together to claim the win.
It was a similar scenario on the next rink too, where Belarus edged out a Brazil side who were still on a high from their history-making win the day before.
Session 21 also saw some emphatic scorelines, with England beating rivals Australia 12-4 to reaffirm their play-off credentials in Group E.
The other big score of the day came in Group C where Spain beat Kazakhstan 14-1, while Korea also enjoyed a profitable day on the ice, beating Ireland 10-1 in the same group.
There were also wins for Scotland and France, in Groups C and B respectively, while Russia denied Estonia even a point in their game, winning 9-0 in the opening session of the day.
