Scotland opened the scoring against Germany by stealing two in the second end, and skip Eve Muirhead then hit out a German stone in the fourth for a 4-1 lead.
Germany blanked the next two ends but did reduce the deficit to two points in the seventh.
However, Scotland came roaring back and scored three shots in the ninth to secure a 7-2 victory, meaning a victory over the Czech Republic in the evening session will see guarantee them a play-off spot.
"We have built a lot of momentum," Muirhead said. "We struggled at the start of the week - which is typical for us – then we got form.
"That's exactly what we're doing. I'm really pleased and we need to keep the same mentality for the last game.
"We know the Czech Republic are playing really well, we have played them several times at Europeans. We played them in that bronze medal game at the Europeans, which was a good win.
"We know how they play, we know they are playing well, so we have to keep doing what we are doing just now because we are playing great."
Elsewhere in the morning session, USA beat Switzerland 8-5 to help the Scottish cause, while Sweden won 10-4 against hosts China to make them the second team behind unbeaten Canada – who beat Italy 8-5 – to qualify for the play-offs.
And in the afternoon session Russia beat Sweden 7-3 to join them in advancing to the play-offs, while Canada stretched their unbeaten run to 11 games with an 8-4 victory over Denmark.
The Czech Republic won 5-3 against Germany while USA were narrow 5-4 winners against South Korea.
