Second win sees Wales flying high in World Mixed Curling Championships

By their own admission it's a rare sight to see Wales atop the World Mixed Curling Championships standings but they were far from complaining after securing a second win of the competition.

Having been the only Group A side to win on day one, a 7-5 defeat over Hungary ensured their early advantage was not to slow down anytime soon.
They had to do it the hard way however, trailing 2-1 after two ends, but a three-point third end saw the tables turn in emphatic fashion.
From there Wales maintained the advantage and held out for the win, going two from two in their group – with even skip Adrian Meikle left a little surprised at their position.
"We're elated to win because the first half was a bit shaky at times," he said.
"I had to make a big shot in the first end to save losing a five. Then we got a three before half time which got our tails up a bit and I think we performed much better in the second half.
"It's a rare sight to see Wales on top of the scoreboard and we're very happy about it."
Wales are not the only side with two wins at the early stage in Switzerland, with Finland and Israel staying perfect and hitting the same heights, both in Group D.
Finland got the better of neighbours Norway 5-2, while a victory over the home Swiss side went the way of Israel by an impressive four-point margin.
The last session of the day also saw Sweden ease past Belarus, while debutants Luxembourg continued their tough introduction with a 14-2 loss to Korea.
Earlier in the day, Ireland and Denmark got their first Group C victories, while Canada, Germany and Poland lead the way with a win apiece in Group E.
China's 10-2 success over Brazil means they sit at the top of Group B.
