Alberto Contador is set to come out of retirement to face Chris Froome in the Tour de France China Critérium.

Contador retired as a professional after the Vuelta a Espana last month, but will return for one final race in the first race of Le Tour de France Škoda China Critérium on October 29.

2017 Tour winner Chris Froome (Team Sky), Warren Barguil (Ag2r), Greg Van Avermaet (BMC Racing) and Marcel Kittel (Quick-Step Floors) are all due to compete alongside the Spaniard.

The Shanghai event will take place over a three km circuit and 20 laps.
