“Amazing” ERC co-driver Panseri takes Dakar top 10

FIA European Rally Championship event-winning co-driver Xavier Panseri was described as “amazing” after he guided Mohamed Abu Issa to P10 on the demanding Dakar Rally in South America recently.
Qatari Abu Issa is best known for his exploits racing quads but switched to a MINI ALL4 Racing for the 9000-kilometre cross-country spectacular, his first Dakar in a car.
“This Dakar was very different for me and the whole point is to learn so this Dakar was like a school for me and I learned from Xavier, who is an amazing co-driver,” said Abu Issa afterwards. “I want to win the Dakar in a car one day and this is where I start.”
Panseri is a three-time winner in the ERC. His most recent outright triumph came on the Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse in 2013 partnering Bryan Bouffier. He was co-driving Bouffier when they finished second on last season’s Rally Rzeszow in Poland.
