Crews contesting this season’s FIA European Rally Championship will turn city slickers when Rally Islas Canarias stages the all-action series from 4-6 May.
Organisers of the sensational Spanish event have announced plans for a new stage in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the host island’s capital city.
Run over a distance of 3.3 kilometres, the all-new test will conclude the itinerary for leg one on Friday 5 May and is set to be big hit among fans due to its close proximity to central Las Palmas.
In total there will be 12 stages covering 207.29 timed kilometres. The Qualifying Stage opens the action at 11h18 local time on Thursday 4 May. Leg one begins with the 25.13 kilometres of San Mateo from 10h48. Saturday’s final leg opens with the Moya test from 10h28. Measuring 25.20 kilometres, the stage is the longest of the rally and will be run twice on 6 May. Crews will enter final service in Las Palmas from 17h40.
