Catie Munnings wants a “proper go” in a Peugeot 208 T16 following a brief try-out in one of the French machines in Latvia recently.
Munnings spent 2017 chasing success in the ERC Ladies’ Trophy and FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship at the wheel of a Saintéloc Junior Team 208 R2.
Following the European championship season-closing Rally Liepāja, Munnings was invited by Saintéloc’s Vincent Ducher for a short run in the team’s Peugeot Rally Academy-backed 208 T16 José Suárez drove to second place in ERC Junior Under 28 on the gravel event.
“What surprised me about the car was how much more stable it felt to drive than an R2,” said Briton Munnings. “People have said to me before that it is an easier car to drive and now I can understand what they mean. I think especially on gravel, where the R2 moves around a lot, it surprised me how smoothly and predictably it handled, I’m really looking forward to having a proper go one day.”
