The ADAC Opel Rallye Junior Team driver was one of six young stars covered by little more than 10 seconds at the head of the ERC Junior order with four stages remaining on Rally Liepāja. A roll meant that he and co-driver Jennifer Thielen finished in sixth, but that was enough to secure fourth place in the final standings, and having grown up on sealed surfaces in Germany, he is still learning on gravel and was therefore pleased with his performance in Latvia.

"Naturally the error annoyed me, as I would have liked to continue fighting for a strong position," he said. "But I am happy that we were competitive on gravel and managed to keep pace with significantly more experienced drivers - we were even within striking distance of victory. That was a great reward for all the hard work in the last year.

"We are proud to finish fourth place in the championship. A huge thanks goes primarily Jennifer, the entire team of the ADAC Opel Rally junior teams, the ADAC Sports Foundation and all the supporters and partners, who have accompanied me this year. Only thanks to this support, we were able to develop further and collect these varied experiences. I hope I have the chance to continue this trend in the next year and go for victories."
