FIA ERC Junior Under 28 Championship title contenders Marijan Griebel and Pepe López were the class act on Rallye Lëtzebuerg, taking a one-two finish as part of their preparations for next month’s Rally Rzeszow.
Against a number of World Rally Cars, Griebel took two stage bests on a one-off outing in a Hyundai i20 R5, which he was driving for the first time on the Luxembourg asphalt event.
Co-driven by stand-in navigator Johny Blom, the German finished 13.6s in front of López, who was driving his usual Peugeot Rally Academy 208 T16 and was fastest on he opening stage.
Meanwhile, Rally Rzeszow takes place from 3-5 August. Griebel is three points in front of López in the ERC Junior U28 standings after two rounds.
