Pepe López plans to bounce back from tough events in Poland and Czech Republic by delivering a “good result” for his Peugeot Rally Academy team on this week’s Rally di Roma Capitale, the penultimate event of the FIA ERC Junior Under 28 season.
Spaniard López still holds second place in the title standings but the position is far from secure ahead of the Italian Tarmac event from 14-17 September.
“The Czech Republic was a completely new rally for us,” López explained. “We managed to finish the race, but it was a tough weekend for us because we weren’t able to find our usual pace. We've taken a hard look at what happened, identify the positives and now we'll do our best to be stronger in Rome. A big ‘thank you’ to Peugeot Sport and to everyone in the Peugeot Rally Academy team for their efforts. I'm sure we will be back to our pace in Rome and I hope I can bring a good result for the team.”
