M-Sport: Kajetanowicz success in the ERC “very important”

Maciej Woda takes personal pride in his M-Sport Poland operation winning with Kajetanowicz, co-driver Jarek Baran and the LOTOS Rally Team in an all-Polish effort, but says this success is important too as a whole for M-Sport, which has run Fords in the FIA World Rally Championship for two decades and builds the Fiesta R5 model campaigned in the ERC.

"It’s very important for us because first of all, last year was the first European championship that M-Sport had won, this year it was the second one," he said. "The ERC used to be something M-Sport never put its foot in very strongly, we’ve always concentrated on WRC, and in the past when we had the S2000 car it was kind of a divide where anybody that wanted to do WRC was looking for a Fiesta S2000 and anybody doing ERC - or IRC as it was at that time - wanted a Peugeot or ŠKODA. So for us it is a big achievement and it is a very important programme, there’s absolutely no question about it. And that’s why we are putting quite a lot of effort into this programme and we don’t just see Kajetan as a regular customer."
