Munnings pleased with ERC Junior progress

Munnings crashed heavily early on Saturday’s final leg having driven just one stage in anger on Friday due to a succession of interruptions following accidents.

“We had the most frustrating weekend,” said the Peugeot UK ambassador. “The only stage we actually completed was the city stage. All of the other four stages we were red-flagged because of accidents. But on the kilometres we completed we were making great progress and our feeling was getting better and better.”

Of her event-ending accident, Munnings added: “The feeling and driving was the best it’s been but we were caught out by a series of compressions and bumps in the road on a fast section and crashed, which ended our rally. These roads are incredibly difficult to drive at high speed and have caught out a lot of drivers. We hope to be back soon.”
