Filip Nivette is set to follow in the wheel tracks of several fellow Polish rally talents by embarking on an FIA European Rally Championship campaign in 2018 following domestic title success.
Nivette bagged the coveted Polish RSMP crown for the first time last month and told the country’s RMF FM radio station of his plans to step up from national to international level alongside co-driver Kamil Heller, as reported at Autoklub.pl.

“We wanted to close this stage of our career, win the title of Polish champions and now we can take another step,” Nivette said. “We will not be competing in Poland anymore. Our goal is the European championship. We know what we want and what way we have to go now. This will definitely be a cool adventure with beautiful rallies.”

While ŠKODA Fabia R5 driver Nivette was able to compare his pace against the ERC regulars on his home round, Rally Rzeszow back in August, the experience of co-driver Heller will be vital when he progresses in 2018. Heller co-drove Dominykas Butvilas during the Lithuanian’s ERC2 campaign in 2015 and also partnered Aleks Zawada on May’s Rally Islas Canarias.

The Polish rally champions from 2013-2016, Kajetan Kajetanowicz, Wojciech Chuchała, Łukasz Habaj and Grzegorz Grzyb all went on to compete in the ERC.
