Chuchała was the Polish champion in 2014, succeeding Kajetan Kajetanowicz who went on to claim the ERC title in 2015.

He previously competed for Subaru Poland Rally Team in his native series between 2011 and 2013.

The outfit has since tasted success with Lithuania’s Dominykas Butvilas, including third place in the 2015 ERC2 standings including a class victory in the Azores, plus an outright podium in Latvia.

Chuchała, who turned 27 yesterday (Friday), will drive a Subaru Impreza STi, starting on the season-opening Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés from 10-12 March. He’s also confirmed for the SEAJETS Acropolis Rally and Azores Airlines Rallye, his home event, Rally Rzeszow, and the Cyprus Rally.

Two other events will be chosen from the Circuit of Ireland Rally, Kenotek Ypres Rally and Barum Czech Rally Zlín.

Chuchała said: “You have to believe in your dreams, because they can come true! The new goal strongly motivates me and gives a giant boost of energy to work hard. I am very glad that SPRT trusted me and offered the chance to develop at almost the highest level of rallying.

“It is a great honor that they continue to believe in me. I will do everything to not disappoint them and make sure whole team can enjoy a place on top of the podium.”

Chuchała will have a new co-driver in the form of the experienced Daniel Dymurski. Kamil Heller, who was navigator to Chuchała during his previous stint with Subaru Poland Rally Team and then to Butvilas after that, has left the squad.
