Timely triumph for Larsen ahead of next ERC outing

Norwegian driver Frank Tore Larsen warmed up for his next FIA European Rally Championship appearance on Rally Liepāja with a victory on home soil last weekend.

The 26-year-old, who set top-five stage times on his ERC debut in the Azores in June, took a dominant win on Rally Telemark in his Ford Fiesta R5, along with co-driver Torstein Eriksen.
"It's been a very frustrating year for us with a couple of accidents and mechanical failures hampering our progression," said Larsen. "However, this victory has come just at the right time - ahead of our next adventure coming up in Latvia. Hopefully we can use the good pace in Telemark as a springboard for further success in the European Rally Championship."
Eriksen added: "Now it's a real optimism within the team again. We are looking forward to being truly competitive on the fast gravel stages in Latvia."
