Hanyu claims third consecutive title in Barcelona

Yuzuru Hanyu produced a stunning world-record display as he claimed his third-consecutive title at the figure skating Grand Prix Final in Barcelona.
The Japanese Olympic champion broke the world record in the short programme on Thursday and followed that performance up by breaking the free skating record as he racked up 219.48 for a total of 330.43 – another record.
The 21-year-old saw off the challenge of Spain's Javier Fernandez while teammate Shomo Uno finished with bronze.
In the women's field 16-year-old Evgenia Medvedeva of Russia took the crown as she scored 147.96 in the free skate to take her total to 222.54.
Elsewhere Canada's Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje won their second-consecutive Grand Prix final in the ice dance with 182.66 ahead of American's Madison Chock and Evan Bates while third went to Anna Cappellini and Luca Lanotte.
