Reigning world and European champion Medvedeva scored 144.41 points in the free skate to claim the victory with a total of 220.65.
The 16-year-old finished ahead of runner-up Kaetlyn Osmond from Canada, who took the second Grand Prix medal of her career with 206.45 points, with Japan's Satoko Miyahara moving up from fifth to third with a free skate score of 128.84.
But then it was all about the home skaters as Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford won their third successive Skate Canada pairs title.
The two-time World champions finished with a total of 218.30 points, with Xiaoyu Yu and Hao Zhang of China in second with 202.08, and Canadians Liubov Iliushechkina and Dylan Moscovitch winning their first Grand Prix medal as they collected bronze.
The men's title went to Canadian Patrick Chan, who went from second to first thanks to a season's best score of 176.39 points in the free skate.
Three-time World champion Chan forced Olympic gold medallist Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan to settle for silver, while Canadian Kevin Reynolds won his first ever Grand Prix medal as he finished third on 245.06.
And to round proceedings off Canadians Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir took gold in the ice dance, with Americans Madison Chock and Evan Bates runners-up, and fellow home favourites Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier collecting bronze.
