The Bol d’Or race got off to a totally crazy start. At 6pm, SERT was leading Team Kawasaki SRC and Honda Endurance Racing. The race start was delayed due to a crash in the warm-up lap.

Suzuki Endurance Racing Team has been leading the race practically since the start – masterfully handled for the team by Anthony Delhalle. Three hours into the race, SERT maintains a narrow lead over Team SRC Kawasaki and Honda Endurance Racing. Close on their heels is a group made up of Trick Star Racing’s Kawasaki, YART Yamaha Official EWC Team (delayed earlier when their bike ran out of fuel), and F.C.C. TSR Honda.
The first Superstock teams are not far behind, in 7th place on: the Yamaha-mounted squads Moto Ain, Yamaha Viltaïs Experiences and Team 3’Art Yam’Avenue. Team Bolliger Switzerland’s Kawasaki EWC rounds off the top 10.
A few favourites are missing from the roll call. GMT94 Yamaha is way back beyond 30th, 6 laps behind the leader following two crashes. Penz13.com BMW Motorrad has a broken engine. The Team April Moto Motors Events bike has been in the pit box for quite some time to get the gearbox fixed. Tecmas Racing Team BMW is continuing the race with only two riders, Camille Hedelin and Dominique Platet, currently at the tail end of the standings.
Louis Rossi’s crash on the team’s BMW #88 in the warm-up lap pushed the race start back to 3.10pm. Rossi suffered a head injury.
The 80th edition of the Bol d’Or is however still scheduled to finish at 3pm CET tomorrow (Sunday).
