FIM EWC title at stake

A look at the provisional world standings at the halfway mark of the 2016-2017 FIM EWC grand finale, the 40th anniversary of the Suzuka 8 Hours.

Suzuki Endurance Racing Team arrived in Suzuka as the standings topper, with a lead of only one point over GMT94 Yamaha and a 27-point lead over YART Yamaha Official EWC Team.

If the standings five hours into the Suzuka race were considered final, GMT94 Yamaha would pick up the 2016-2017 FIM EWC title (the team’s third championship win following its 2014 and 2015 victories) with 146 points, ahead of Suzuki Endurance Racing Team, 132 points, and YART Yamaha Official EWC Team, 130,5 points.
