Eurosport Events has announced the names of fifteen ‘independent teams under contract’ who will receive backing amounting to €185,000. The amount comprises both prize money and logistics support. The initiative will offer further support to FIM EWC private teams – the beating heart of Endurance.

Alongside the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy to support private teams using Dunlop tyres, Eurosport Events and the organizers of the 2016/2017 season’s six races will be backing fifteen private teams (dubbed ‘independent teams under contract’) that have signed up to compete for the entire 2016-2017 season. The backing – a total amount of €150,000, split between a guaranteed purse and result-based bonuses – will be handed out at the end of the season.

An additional €35,000 is being provided to finance logistics support for private teams under contract, to help them improve their chances at Suzuka, the final race of the EWC 2016/2017 season.

Fifteen teams have been selected – eight in Superstock and seven in Formula EWC, plus two substitute teams that will step in case any of the teams under contract is forced to withdraw.
