There are only three months to go for the 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans, the next round of the FIM EWC, and teams will be back to continue their testing programme from the end of January. The first major face-off between the competing teams will take place on the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans on 28 and 29 March at the official test sessions for the 24 Heures Motos. This year’s edition of the 24 Heures Motos – the 40th – will be held on 15 and 16 April.
After the 8 Hours of Oschersleben, to be held for the first time in late spring (on Saturday 20 May), the FIM EWC teams will get their first taste of the 8 Hours of Slovakia Ring, a new race on the eponymous track near Bratislava. The race will take place on Saturday 24 June, with free practice at the Slovakia Ring scheduled at the beginning of the week to enable the teams to fine-tune their settings to suit the new circuit.
In preparation for the 2016-2017 FIM EWC final round (the 40th anniversary of the Suzuka 8 Hours), official tests will take place at Suzuka from 11 to 13 July, 15 days before the grand finale in Japan on Saturday 30 July.
