Sodo Hamahara will be Suzuki Endurance Racing Team’s third rider at the Suzuka 8 Hours. Currently racing in JSB1000, the Japanese superbike championship, with Yoshimura Suzuki Motul Racing, Sodo Hamahara will shore up Vincent Philippe and Etienne Masson on the Suzuki #1 to try and net SERT a 16th world title.
22-year-old Sodo Hamahara is racing his first full season this year in JSB1000 – the Japanese Superbike championship – with Yoshimura Suzuki Motul Racing. His teammate Takuya Tsuda is currently leading the JSB1000 four races into the championship. Sodo Hamahara is 5th in the standings, after a great start to the season.
So Takuya Tsuda will be riding Yoshimura Suzuki Motul Racing’s GSX-R 1000 2017 at the Suzuka 8 Hours with teammates Sylvain Guintoli and Josh Brookes. Sodo Hamahara will be lining up alongside Vincent Philippe and Etienne Masson for Suzuki Endurance Racing Team, which has decided to chase another world title on the GSX-R 2016. The French factory team with 15 world titles to its credit will be starting the Suzuka race as leader of the FIM EWC 2016-2017 standings, narrowly ahead of GMT94 Yamaha and YART Yamaha Official EWC Team.
