Suzuki SERT dominating race ahead of Kawasaki SRC

Suzuki Endurance Racing Team took the lead in the first few laps, and has stayed in control ever since on the Paul Ricard circuit, ahead of Team SRC Kawasaki and YART Yamaha Official EWC Team. Bonus points are awarded to the top 10 teams 8 hours into the race.
British team Honda Endurance Racing fell back from the 3rd place it had occupied for more than six hours after Julien da Costa’s crash. Currently lapping in 17th place, 12 laps behind the leader, the factory-backed Honda is out of the running for the bonus points awarded to the top 10 teams 8 hours into the race.
Suzuki Endurance Racing Team is pushing ahead in the lead to widen the gap with Team SRC Kawasaki, two laps behind, and YART Yamaha Official EWC Team is now in 3rd place, four laps behind SERT. Trick Star Racing, in 4th place, is keeping up its excellent performance in the team’s first Bol d’Or. Maco Racing Team, currently 5th ahead of F.C.C. TSR Honda, is also having a good race.
Yamaha Viltaïs Experiences and Moto Ain, in 7th and 8th place respectively, are engaged in a race-within-the-race for the Superstock win. Team Bolliger Switzerland and Tati Team Beaujolais Racing, the third Superstock, pick up bonus points for being 9th and 10th respectively 8 hours into the race.
Team 3Art Yam’Avenue and Racing Team Sarazin are currently battling to be 4th Superstock. Junior Team Le Mans Sud Suzuki is 25th following a crash.
GMT94 Yamaha dropped out of the leading pack after two crashes and signs of overheating. Penz13.com BMW Motorrad withdrew because of engine failure, and Team April Moto Motors Events as a result of a gearbox issue. Team Tecmas Racing BMW is lapping beyond 30th place with only two riders, Camille Hedelin and Dominique Platet, after Louis Rossi crashed in the warm-up lap.
