Team SRC Kawasaki kept the pressure on its rivals at this morning’s warm-up at the Bol d’Or by completing the fastest lap a shade quicker than Suzuki Endurance Racing Team.
SRC Kawasaki enhanced its image this morning as the favourite to win the Bol d’Or. Mathieu Gines, Randy de Puniet and Fabien Foret once again notched up the fastest lap during the warm-up run before the opening round of the 2017-2018 FIM EWC.
Fourth on the starting grid, Suzuki Endurance Racing Team posted the second fastest time of the warm-up: the final preparatory stage ahead of the race, to be flagged off at 3pm today on the Paul Ricard circuit. Bolstered by the performance of the GSX-R 2017, Vincent Philippe, Etienne Masson and Gregg Black made their ambitions crystal-clear.
Wepol BMW Motorrad by Penz13 clocked the third-fastest time, ahead of GMT94 and YART’s factory Yamahas.
The warm-up also provided an opportunity to check out how the teams are placed a few hours ahead of the race start. Damian Cudlin has withdrawn, so National Motos will have to take to the track with only two riders: Emeric Jonchière and Stéphane Egéa. Moto Ain CRT has replaced Christophe Ponsson, who was injured during the tests, with Mathieu Lussiana. Over at Sarazin Motorsport, Stéphane Pagani has stepped in for another injured rider, Adrien Ganfornina.
