Daniel Sturridge and Sadio Mane on scoresheet as Liverpool cruise to victory over Bayern Munich

Daniel Sturridge injured himself by scoring with a stunning lob as Liverpool cruised to a 3-0 victory against a below-par Bayern Munich.

Sadio Mane - playing in only his second game since an injury lay-off in April - gave the Reds an early lead with a cool finish.

Mane was involved in the second goal with some scintillating skill which led to summer signing Mohamed Salah to score with a header.

Bayern’s half grew worse with Thiago Alcantara going off with an injury as they struggled to get into the game.

Jurgen Klopp’s side continued to dominate in the second half with substitute Sturridge scoring with a beautiful chip, but appeared to tweak his quadricep when striking the ball and was brought off.

The result means the Reds will play Atletico Madrid in the final of the Audi Cup on Wednesday.

Can Liverpool mount a title challenge with their attacking players? Jurgen Klopp now has a wealth of options with the signings of Dominic Solanke and Mo Salah along with the return to the side of Sadio Mane. The pace of the front four was too much for Bayern to handle on the counter attack. The key will be if they all remain fit and keeping reported Barcelona target Philippe Coutinho.
