Blackpool manager Neil McDonald admits it is devastating for winger Henry Cameron to be ruled out for the rest of the season.
The 18-year-old ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament on his international debut for New Zealand against Oman and now faces an operation and months of rehabilitation.
"It is devastating for everyone, especially him and his family," said McDonald.
"He is a young kid who is trying to progress and we have progressed him enough to get an international call up.
"He played for his team but unfortunately he got a bad injury on his knee and is out for the rest of the season.
"He will probably have a little bit of a holiday once he's had the operation and then it is rehabbing and being mentally strong and making sure he believes he can come back
"We have reassured him lots of people have had this operation and come back strong and I am sure he will be exactly the same."
