Sheffield United have appointed former striker Brian Deane as an academy coach and ambassador of the club.
Deane, 47, who recently left his role as manager at Norwegian top-flight side Sarpsborg, will work alongside Under-21s coach Chris Morgan and Under-18s coach Travis Binnion.
"As everyone knows I have never really severed my links with the Blades - they have always been my club," Deane told the club's official website.
"Following discussions with vice-chairman David Green and Nick Cox, we identified I could work with the emerging strikers here at the academy, passing on my experiences from the game, coaching and generally help with the development of the strikers across a number of age groups."
Academy director Cox added: "It is great to have Brian back and we know he will prove to be a real asset for the academy, bringing his coaching skills and knowledge of the game as a successful striker at the highest level."
Deane made 224 appearances for the Blades in three separate spells at the club, scoring 94 goals. He also played for Leeds, Benfica, Middlesbrough, Leicester and West Ham and won three England caps.
