Actually, the word 'relief' only begins to scratch the surface of the Bayern Munich winger's feelings, because he poured his heart and soul out to Dutch TV station NOS (rendered in English via Spain's Sport).
"I am happy because 2015 is ending. It's been a s**t year for me," said Robben. "I got injured in a silly way in March. Then I did not get better in the summer break. This resulted in physical and psychological problems. But I'm glad it's over now.
"Hopefully it's all passed and I will be ready to return to action when the Bundesliga returns after the winter break."
Robben continued the grumbling when asked his view of Pep Guardiola's decision to leave Bayern at the end of the season.

"I am angry. It's a true shame. I am a bit disappointed to see that he's going," said the 31-year-old.
"Now everything will start again, just as always happens whenever there's a new coach."
The grouchiness continued unabated as he was asked for a comment on new manager Carlo Ancelotti.
"It's too early for that," he said, before finally managing to rustle up a more positive comment. "We are half-way through the season and there's a lot to win."
