Fans took to social media to hail Cristiano Ronaldo after the Real Madrid forward cruised past the 50-goal mark in the Champions League knock-out stages against Atletico Madrid at the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo netted as early as the 10th minute to reach the landmark - the first player to do so.
Astonishingly, it was also his 33rd goal of the season and 101st in the Champions League.
Quite rightly, social media was abuzz with praise for Ronaldo after his latest statistical feat...
What a player.
Indeed, another goal arrived in the second half to demonstrate that he is showing no signs of slowing down.
