Islam Slimani lived up to his reputation as the 'Dragon Slayer', scoring his seventh goal against Porto in seven games as Leicester maintained their 100 per cent start in the Champions League.
It was no more than Leicester deserved, as they thoroughly outplayed Porto in their first ever home Champions League match at the King Power stadium.
Slimani and Jamie Vardy combined well up front, and the Algerian carried on his fine form against Porto from his time at Sporting Lisbon - the 28-year-old now boasts five goals in his last three games against Iker Casillas.

TALKING POINT: The Leicester of old frustrate Porto

It was a style we got used to watching last season in the Premier League. Long balls to Vardy, quick counter-attacks and dogged defending – which resulted in plenty of 1-0 wins.
That was all on show here, and Porto could not handle it. The visitors hit the post but that was as good as it got, and Slimani’s class proved the difference.
It hasn’t clicked for the Foxes so far in the league, but Slimani looks dangerous and he’s a right handful.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Naturally, after the above assessment, Slimani gets the nod. The Algerian proved to be a constant nuisance and stepped up when it mattered.
Credit must go to Wes Morgan and Robert Huth in the Leicester defence, as they put in a huge shift to keep Porto at bay.

PLAYER RATINGS

Leicester: Schmeichel 7, Hernandez 6, Huth 8, Morgan 8, Fuchs 7, Mahrez 7, Drinkwater 7, Amartey 7, Albrighton 7, Slimani 8, Vardy 8. Subs: King 6, Gray N/A, Musa N/A.

KEY MOMENTS

4' - CLOSE! Great chance for Porto as a long ball comes over the Leicester defence and Silva beats Schmeichel to it, but his long distance effort bounces just wide.
14' - Leicester win a free-kick after Andre Silva brings down Drinkwater... SAVE! It's crossed in and no one picks up Slimani, who heads the ball towards Casillas and the Porto keeper gathers gratefully.
25’ - GOAL!!!! LEICESTER 1-0 Porto. The Dragon Slayer heads Leicester into the lead. A simply sensational cross from Mahrez on the right, he whips it in with his left, and it's there for Slimani to nod home from barely six yards out. 1-0 to Leicester!!
35’ - Down the other end Porto win another free-kick in a decent spot... JUST WIDE! Layun has Schmeichel grasping at thin air, but his effort is narrowly wide as it ripples the side-netting.
59’ - SAVE! The ball falls to Mahrez 25 yards out, his effort is drilled low and pushed wide by Casillas.
76’ - SAVE! Morgan nervously puts it out for a corner... It's sent in but Leicester head away. It falls to Herrera, who shoots on the half-volley, and Schmeichel forces it wide. Leicester deal with the resulting corner.
84’ - OFF THE POST! A cross causes all sorts of chaos as Schmeichel comes out flapping, it falls to Corona, who volleys against the post after it takes a slight knick off Albrighton. Schmeichel was nowhere to be seen and that was in if it wasn't for the deflection.
